Local Walks

The area around The Fountain lends itself to many and various walking opportunities suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Many groups use us as a base, parking up in our spacious car park before setting off on their walk, returning for lunch or just drinks in warm and friendly surroundings. We are able to devise your own post-walk menu if you wish and will be glad to help with any enquiries you may have, including suggested routes for your walk! Local Info

Set in beautiful rolling countryside, there is much to see and do within a short drive of The Fountain. From National Trust properties and English Heritage sites to the ancient market towns of Ludlow and Leominster, history is all around. The cathedral cities of Worcester (with the Country's most picturesque first-class cricket ground) and Hereford (home of the Mappa Mundi) are only half an hour away and Cardiff a ninety minute drive through the spectacular scenery of the Welsh borders. Burford House gardens offer a spectacular collection of flora, including the national clematis collection and the Malvern Hills (source of the famous water and home to the three counties Showground) offer some of the best views in England. For horse racing enthusiasts, Ludlow, Hereford & Worcester races are all within half an hour away and Chepstow, Warwick, Wolverhampton, Stratford & Cheltenham, among others, are all comfortably accessible.
